Choir

The choirs at Antelope High School are devoted to the preparation and performance of traditional and contemporary music literature, ranging from Historical Sacred to Contemporary Broadway.  Not only is the goal of each choir to achieve a high degree of learning and performing excellence, but for each student to understand the value of commitment and follow-through.

We have 6 choral ensembles at Antelope High School.       

BARITONE CHOIR

Baritone Choir is offered in the fall and open to singers in grades 9-12.  This is a course in basic vocal techniques, music theory, sight-reading, and TBB choral literature for the beginning/intermediate men’s ensemble.  Baritone Choir performs at local festivals and all school concerts.  This ensemble may combine with other ensembles for Holiday caroling.

TREBLE CONCERT CHOIR

Treble Concert Choir is offered in the fall and open to singers in grades 9-12.  This is a course in basic vocal techniques, music theory, sight-reading, and SSA choral literature for the beginning/intermediate women’s ensemble.  Treble Concert Choir performs at local festivals and all school concerts.  This ensemble may combine with other ensembles for Holiday caroling.

CONCERT CHOIR

Concert Choir is offered in the spring and open to all singers in grades 9-12.  This is a course in basic vocal techniques, music theory, sight-reading, and SAB choral literature for the beginning/intermediate mixed ensemble.  Concert Choir performs at local festivals and all school concerts.

SHOW CHOIR

Show Choir is offered in the fall and open by audition to singers in grades 10-12.  This is a course that focuses on both advanced SSA choral literature from all periods of music and SSA pop/Broadway literature with full staged choreography. 

TREBLE CHAMBER CHOIR

Treble Chamber Choir is offered in the spring and open to singers in grades 10-12 with the consent of the director.  This is an advanced course focusing on SSAA literature from all periods of music.  Students develop advanced vocal and musicianship skills, as well as sight-reading training.  This ensemble will attend local festivals, deliver Singing Valentines, tour with Chamber Choir, and perform at all school concerts.

CHAMBER CHOIR

Chamber Choir is offered in the spring and open by audition to singers in grades 10-12.  This is an advanced course focusing on SATB literature from all periods of music.  Students develop advanced vocal and musicianship skills, as well as sight-reading training.  This ensemble will attend local festivals, deliver Singing Valentines, tour with Treble Chamber Choir, and perform at all school concerts.
